The journey to creating this album really began in the early days of my childhood when my dad introduced me to his record collection and I fell in love with the music of Bruce Springsteen. I would dress up in a mask and cape, and jump around on my parents' furniture rocking out to The Boss with my red toy guitar, pretending to entertain the masses.
Fast forward to my grade 8 school year where I met my first true music mentor in my teacher, Mr. Shaw. He devoted weekends to helping my friends and I develop our first band, teaching us how to properly set up our gear and giving us the school stage for band practice. He believed that one day I would be a great artist, a notion that has stuck with me ever since.
I’ve had many incredible experiences over the years with amazing people in my life, but I’ve also had moments of feeling down and feeling stuck. I found myself at a crossroads in 2019, unsure of what to focus my energy on, having lost my passion for music. Or so I thought. This led me to a fateful meeting with Doug Dane, who became my personal development mentor after challenging me in our first conversation to make a damn decision. It was at that moment that my life changed, when I decided that I had not finished what I started.
I am again a student of life, seeing things differently and understanding new concepts, like the importance of feeling gratitude daily, changing my life by changing the way I think, and that the best things in life are on the other side of fear. It’s now my mission to grow by bridging personal development messages with my songwriting, and share what I continue to learn through my music.
